What We Do

East Shore Schroon Lake Association (ESSLA) is a volunteer organization that loves Schroon Lake and the Adirondacks! We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, all volunteer organization that’s been around since 1966. Our aim is to protect “The Pearl of the Adirondacks” for generations to come by focusing on the environment and its watershed. Here’s some of what we do:

• Advocate to Protect the Lake
• Partner with local governments, agencies, sister lakes and Adirondack Park organizations.
• Protect the environs through our programs, as well as water testing and other land initiatives.
• Spearhead and support new environmental activities.  
• Educate the community through our newsletters and member meetings.
• Recruit volunteers to provide expertise and/or assistance with ESSLA’s various programs and projects.
• Host annual events.
