East Shore Schroon Lake Association
“Serving the Schroon Lake and River Region”
MISSION
To preserve, protect and improve the waters and lands of the Schroon Lake and
River Region for present and future generations by working in conjunction with
other Schroon Lake organizations as well as state and local governments.
GOALS
1. To develop an effective means of communicating with the members of the Schroon Lake and River Region and the public in general, and to provide a forum for membership feedback.
2. To create viable programs and activities to educate our community members and visitors to our community about protecting our lake, river and surrounding areas.
3. To establish and lead an alliance with neighboring lake organizations to share information of general interest and to solicit support for the long-range health of the region.
4. To promote active participation in and solicit feedback from other lake and river organizations.
5. To stay actively engaged with proceedings that occur within the three local town governments (Chestertown, Schroon and Horicon) with special emphasis on issues affecting the towns of Horicon and Chester, and state agencies such as the APIPP, APA, DEC, WCSWCD and NYSFOLA, as these proceedings may have an impact on the Schroon Lake and River Region.
6. To pursue and establish fundraising activities that supports the general welfare of the Schroon Lake and River Region.
7. To actively recruit new community members, from the whole lake and river region, to join our organization.
8. To provide a leadership role in all long range planning activities that may have an impact on the Schroon Lake and River Region.
